February 13, 2016The first woman to win the Warsaw Chopin Competition since Martha Argerich in 1965, Yulianna Avdeeva follows her notable début recording with a recital of works by Chopin, Mozart and Liszt. Recorded at the marvelous Reitstadel of Neumark concert hall in Germany by legendary sound engineer Andreas Neubronner, the youthful Avdeeva deploys a sensational piano technique coupled with a vivid, expressive and poetic palette. The program includes Chopin’s Fantaisie Op.49, Mozart’s Piano Sonata K284, Liszt’s Après une lecture du Dante, and his transcription of the Danza Sacrée from Verdi’s Aida.
