The year 2025 marks 50 years since the death of Dmitry Shostakovich. Some of you may already know that this year, I am working on a truly unique project: his cycle 24 Preludes and Fugues, Op. 87, inspired by Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier. I am thrilled and honored to perform this extraordinary music for you at many wonderful venues, including the Pierre Boulez Hall in Berlin, Palau de la Música in Barcelona, Saitama Arts Center in Tokyo, NCPA in Beijing, at Lanaudière in Canada, in Czech Republic and Switzerland as well as at the Shostakovich Festival at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, a unique event which will take place in the second half of May 2025.

Additionally, 24 Preludes and Fugues will be recorded and released by Pentatone this summer. I am also delighted to announce the start of the #AvdeevaShostakovichProject next week, where we will explore Shostakovich’s 24 Preludes and Fugues, Op. 87 together over the next 24 weeks.

I will also try to share live video episodes so we can connect in real time. This space will remain a welcoming place for exchanging ideas and sharing our passion for music. I would be truly happy if you join me on this incredible journey with Shostakovich!
